At a press conference, Health Minister Ana Mato said: "Infertility is a disease and the state is not able to pay this kind of treatment." Therefore, the thousands of couples trying to have a child be excluded from the health system and only those that can afford it (about 7000 € each attempt) may go to a private clinic.
I wonder if Mrs Mato have children. If so, try to imagine what would happen if they never existed or would exist in the future. Would you feel good? If so. Congratulations. Unable to have children is not a disease.
According to WHO, disease is "structural or functional impairment that adversely affects the welfare state."
Now, for a moment think that the world may have no children. But not a disease, right?. Only that the human race would die out. A minor detail. But of course. Needless to heal ... not a disease, right, Ana Mato?
Damn country.
