LiMo Foundation launched its mobile Linux in March

The LiMo Foundation is a consortium of companies formed by manufacturers Motorola, NEC, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics and operators NTT DoCoMo and Vodafone Group Services. His mission was, since its founding in January 2007, creating a platform that would allow the use of Linux on mobile devices.

On January 4 this year have issued a statement announcing the launch of the first mobile Linux, as well as an API that enables application development for future devices using this system. The API is available in beta on its website.
It is anticipated that the first mobile Linux go on sale in March 2008.
