Limo Foundation will launch its mobile Linux in March

The foundation Limo is a consortium of companies formed by manufacturers Motorola, NEC, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics and operators NTT DoCoMo and Vodafone Group Services. Its mission was, from its founding in January 2007, the creation of a platform that would allow the use of Linux in mobile devices.

The day on January 4 this year have issued a communique announcing the launch of the first Linux for mobile, as well as an API that allows the development of applications for future devices that use this system. The API is available in beta on its website.
It is envisaged that the first mobile Linux come to market in March 2008.
